The Los Angeles Lakers waived Dalton Knecht on Monday, leaving Bronny James on their 15-player regular-season roster.
The Lakers entered camp with 16 guaranteed contracts and had to reduce that number by Monday’s deadline. They released Knecht, who was drafted ahead of James in 2024.
James averaged 2.2 points, 2.8 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 2.4 turnovers in 16.4 minutes per game during the preseason. His place on the roster could come under pressure if the Lakers look for another option, but he has made the initial cut.
