The Detroit Lions travel to face the Arizona Cardinals after taking their second loss of the season earlier than in any year since 2022. Their early Week 6 bye follows the matchup.
Detroit opened at least 4-1 in each of the past three seasons, but both defeats this year came in prime-time games. The Lions have yet to put together what the preview describes as a complete game.
Recent meetings favor Detroit: the Lions are 5-1 against Arizona since 2017, after losing seven straight matchups from 2006 through 2015. The Cardinals’ skill players include Trey McBride, Michael Wilson, Jeremiyah Love and Marvin Harrison Jr.
One matchup to watch is Detroit’s run defense against three-tight-end formations. Despite broader struggles against the run, the Lions have allowed 3.31 yards per rush against those sets.
