San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said he has been making and taking trade calls ahead of the NFL’s Nov. 10 deadline.
Lynch said tight end George Kittle asked him Thursday about a possible deal for Los Angeles Chargers pass rusher Khalil Mack. Speaking Friday on KNBR, Lynch described the calls as routine efforts to gauge the market, not confirmation that a trade is coming.
The 49ers are 5-0 and could use help on the defensive line. They pursued Mack in 2018, before the Raiders traded him to the Bears. Mack, now 35, has three sacks and five quarterback hits this season for the 0-5 Chargers.
