The Golden State Warriors said Wednesday that Kristaps Porzingis will remain out indefinitely because of a health issue that has kept him out of training camp and five preseason games.
Porzingis addressed his absence in a post on X minutes after the team's announcement. He said he is working with doctors and experts to regain his health, but has not identified a specific condition. He also rejected online speculation that he has HIV or AIDS.
Porzingis visited Chase Center on Tuesday and met with general manager Mike Dunleavy and vice president of player health Rick Celebrini. Dunleavy had first announced on Sept. 28 that Porzingis would be out indefinitely. Coach Steve Kerr said last week that the team did not have a clear understanding of his specific health problem.
