The Houthis have warned people against using Saudi airports after a missile attack that killed 12 people and injured hundreds in the kingdom.
The Saudi-led coalition accused the Iran-backed group of striking King Khalid International Airport and called the attack a war crime. It said on Sunday that it would retaliate. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree said Saudi airports and airspace could be targeted in further operations, and blamed Saudi Arabia for failing to intercept the missiles.
British Defence Secretary Wes Streeting condemned the attack as a dangerous escalation and said the UK was supporting Saudi Arabia with air defences and air-to-air refuelling. The strikes followed the collapse in July of a truce with Yemen’s Riyadh-backed government.
