Chicago’s fall 2026 picks include new restaurants and theater, with art exhibitions, architecture tours and festivals also on the seasonal calendar.
In Logan Square, Hooligan serves French-inspired food shaped by Midwestern ingredients, including those from the Great Lakes. Black Briar opened in Fulton Market on Sept. 26. Chef Jimmy Papadopoulos and co-owner Tim Anderson’s American restaurant combines a tavern setting with coal-roasted cooking and a contemporary menu.
On stage, the fall selections include Kowalski at Lookingglass Theatre Company. Together with museum visits and neighborhood outings, the picks offer several ways to spend a day or evening in the city.
