Chicago Bears coach Ben Johnson replaced Tyson Bagent with Case Keenum in the fourth quarter against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, after Chicago fell behind 31-7. Bagent had started in place of the injured Caleb Williams.
Bagent completed 12 of 21 passes for 87 yards and threw two interceptions before leaving the game with 14:47 remaining. Keenum took over after rookie Zavion Thomas returned a kick 61 yards to the Packers’ 31-yard line. He moved the Bears to the 3-yard line on his first two passes, but later threw an end-zone interception on fourth-and-goal from the 10. The Bears had five turnovers in all at Lambeau Field.
Chicago hopes Williams can return for Sunday’s game against the Falcons in Atlanta. After throwing on the side last week, he took part in practice Friday and worked out at Lambeau Field on Sunday morning. He appears on track to resume his role when the team returns to practice Wednesday.
