Officials ejected Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr. after a fight near midfield during the opening kickoff of their game in London.
Jacksonville appeared to run the kickoff back 91 yards for a touchdown, but penalties wiped out the return. Officials threw multiple flags and paused to sort through the calls before disqualifying both players.
A replay showed the two fighting at the 50-yard line, though it was unclear who started it. Thomas appeared to kick toward Trotter during the altercation, but the view did not show everything that happened.
Trotter was a starter on Philadelphia’s defense and entered the game with 19 tackles, 14 of them solo. The Eagles had lost their previous two games, to the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams, and were already without Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith because of injuries.
