San Francisco, Kansas City and Minnesota are the NFL’s only 4-0 teams heading into Week 5, but their unbeaten starts have come in different ways.
The 49ers lead the ranking, having outscored opponents by 58 points. Their offense is the league’s most efficient, and quarterback Brock Purdy has thrown 11 touchdown passes against one interception. San Francisco has won three games by double digits, though it has not beaten a team currently above .500.
The Chiefs rank second, with the strength of their opponents setting them apart. The Vikings are third; their offense has scored just six touchdowns through four games.
San Francisco’s defense has been less dominant than its offense, ranking 18th in expected points allowed per play. The 49ers next visit the 3-1 Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
