Nigel Farage says he receives 30 death threats a week. Reform UK says it has recorded 1,577 threats against him since February, including 597 death threats.
The party says some individuals have made repeated threats and believes they are fixated on killing him. Farage plans to present the figures in talks with the head of a Home Office security team as Reform seeks better protection for its MPs following the murder of Ann Widdecombe.
Reform’s Treasury spokesman Robert Jenrick accused ministers of letting politics affect politicians’ safety. Downing Street rejected the allegation and said Farage had been offered a meeting with the chair of the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, which coordinates security for royals and senior politicians.
