London could host large public screenings of the World Cup final if England beat Argentina to reach it.
The O2 Arena is seen as the likeliest venue, with as many as 20,000 fans potentially attending. The arena hosted a screening of the Euro 2024 final between England and Spain.
Some supporters have criticised the lack of a large screening in the capital for the Argentina match. When England reached the World Cup semi-finals in 2018, City Hall and the government arranged a 30,000-capacity screening in Hyde Park for the game against Croatia, with places allocated by ballot.
