The Open Championship could bring Sunday's final-round tee times forward if England reach the World Cup final, avoiding a clash between the two events.
England's semi-final against Argentina presents a more immediate timing problem for golfers. The match kicks off in Atlanta at 20:00 BST on Wednesday, and eight English players have opening-round tee times before 08:00 BST at Royal Birkdale on Thursday. Players typically arrive at the course up to two hours before their round.
Royal Birkdale's Matthew Baldwin is scheduled to hit the first shot at 06:35, with an English player in each of the first eight groups. Justin Rose has a 09:36 start and has said he intends to watch the football while keeping his emotions in check.
Matt Fitzpatrick has a 15:15 tee time on Thursday and an early start on Friday. His brother Alex is scheduled to begin at 07:19 on Thursday.
