A New Mexico judge has dismissed the indictment against actor Timothy Busfield on child sexual contact charges, finding errors that undermined the grand jury process.
State District Judge Joseph Montano granted the defence’s request on Friday. He said the prosecutor had failed to act fairly and impartially. The district attorney’s office in Bernalillo County said it was weighing its next steps.
Busfield was indicted in February on four counts of criminal sexual contact of a child. The allegations came from child actors who worked with him on The Cleaning Lady, a series he directed and produced. Busfield denies all the allegations.
