Two people died in a Grand Prairie house fire early Saturday, and a firefighter was injured, the Grand Prairie Fire Department said.
Crews responded around 4:48 a.m. to the 3600 block of Green Hollow Drive after reports that two people might be trapped inside. When firefighters arrived, flames had engulfed the home and the roof was beginning to collapse.
Firefighters found a man and brought him out through a window. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died. Crews kept looking for a second person but had to leave the house as its walls began to collapse. A woman was later found and pronounced dead at the scene.
The injured firefighter was treated at a hospital for minor injuries and released. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
