Firefighters spent a second night tackling a scrapyard fire in Glasgow’s Scotstoun area. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the business on South Street at about 23:23 on Friday.
Nine fire engines, two high-reach vehicles and specialist resources responded. No casualties were reported. Crews remained at the scene overnight with four fire appliances and two high-reach appliances.
A high-volume pump was drawing water from the nearby River Clyde. At the height of the fire, people who could see smoke were advised to keep windows and doors closed. Thick grey smoke was visible above the scrapyard on Saturday.
