At least one person was killed in overnight strikes on St Petersburg that hit two oil facilities and injured at least five others. Governor Alexander Beglov said crews were fighting fires at the St Petersburg Oil Terminal and the Ruchyi oil depot.
Beglov reported damage to 12 apartment buildings and two houses. Pulkovo Airport closed temporarily. Ozon said a drone struck its local logistics centre, causing a fire; staff were evacuated and no one there was injured. Social network VK confirmed a drone had targeted its regional data centre.
Kyiv has not commented on the strikes. Russia’s defence ministry said its forces intercepted more than 1,000 Ukrainian drones across Russian territory during the night leading into Sunday.
Ukraine had suspended attacks on Russian oil facilities for three days after Donald Trump announced an energy ceasefire last week, then resumed them earlier this week. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia had targeted Ukraine’s energy sector 76 times since that announcement.
