Ukraine received no advance warning from its partners before a Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday. He said five missiles struck civilian infrastructure in Monday’s attack.

Zelenskyy called the strikes particularly vile and said intelligence from western allies can help prevent deaths by giving people early warning. He did not blame any partner for the absence of an alert.

The account follows threats by US officials over the weekend to stop sharing intelligence with Kyiv. Speaking in Warsaw, Ukrainian foreign minister Andrii Sybiha said cooperation was continuing and attributed the lack of warning to a special type of Russian weaponry.
