Families returned to Six Flags Over Georgia on Friday, days after a local teacher died after being ejected from a roller coaster.
Hassan Kariem, 42, was riding Goliath with his niece when he was thrown from the ride on Monday. Goliath remains closed while the state insurance commissioner’s office investigates. Fright Fest activities continued near the ride.
Among the visitors were Matt Chaffin and his son Nathan, who had ridden Goliath the day before Kariem died. Chaffin said he hoped investigators would establish what happened and that Kariem’s family would find some peace. Jenerva Threadcraft, who brought her grandchildren, said she felt safe at the park but had thought about the death.
