Six Flags Over Georgia plans to resume operations Friday following a fatal incident on its Goliath roller coaster earlier in the week.
Cobb County police said Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, was ejected from the ride Monday and struck other passengers. His body was found beneath the coaster, and the park was evacuated. Investigators have not announced a cause.
The park temporarily shut nine rides similar to Goliath at six parks. Its management said safety is its top priority but declined to discuss the incident or which rides remain closed.
Georgia Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner John King said Tuesday that his office is investigating the death. Goliath uses lap restraints and can reach 70 mph.
