Frederick Douglass High School safety Travis Isaacs is expected to play in Friday’s senior night game after returning to football from a crash that killed his two brothers and left him in a coma.
Frederick Douglass will host Pace Academy at Lakewood Stadium in southeast Atlanta. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Isaacs was a freshman when the crash happened in January 2024. His brothers, Cameron and Gabriel, died. Isaacs said doctors later told him he would likely never play football again.
He began physical therapy, resumed training and was medically cleared to return to the field during his junior year. Coach Stanley Pritchett said Isaacs continued coming to the weight room and practices during his recovery.
