One person was killed and three others were injured in a shooting after a softball game in northeast Harris County, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies responded to a weapons disturbance call on Wyatt Shores Drive, north of Greens Bayou, shortly after 9 p.m. They found four people with gunshot wounds. Emergency medical workers pronounced 36-year-old Jarmon Mattix dead at the scene; two women and a man were taken to a nearby hospital.
Sgt. Sidney Miller said a disturbance involving two groups playing softball moved into a parking lot. Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots there. Deputies reportedly detained and interviewed people who may have fired shots, and officers recovered weapons in the area. What caused the disturbance remains unknown.
