Moishe Mana still plans to build two office buildings in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood after selling most of his land there for $1.1 billion.
Hedge fund CEO Ken Griffin bought the property and is donating it to Carnegie Mellon University for a tech-focused Miami campus. The campus is planned for Mana Wynwood, a 30-acre event venue. Mana retains about 15 acres in the neighborhood, where he began buying land in 2009.
Mana said he hopes to carry out the office plans within the next year. He expects the buildings to serve the technology activity around the university campus, though he said his focus is shifting toward projects downtown. The offices were originally part of a broader development plan for the Mana Wynwood site.
