LeBron James is set to make his Philadelphia 76ers debut against the defending champion New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on opening night.
Before the game, the Knicks are scheduled to receive their championship rings and unveil a title banner. They won the NBA Finals against San Antonio in June, bringing the championship back to Manhattan for the first time in more than five decades.
James joins a Philadelphia lineup featuring Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. The 76ers have faced the Knicks in two of the past three postseasons, adding recent playoff history to the opening-night matchup.
