Rolando Jose Dusuau, 17, was fatally shot Oct. 16 in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood. Police said officers found a person with gunshot wounds on the 1100 block of Wisconsin Street at about 8:38 p.m. Paramedics tried to save him, but he died at the scene.
Police arrested a juvenile male the next day after investigators served a search warrant on the 1800 block of 25th Street. He was booked on a homicide charge at the Juvenile Justice Center. Authorities have not disclosed what led to the shooting or the relationship between Dusuau and the person arrested.
Dusuau, known as RJ, was looking forward to graduating from high school and becoming a youth counselor. His mother, Christina Onopa, said he had left home to meet someone she believed was a friend. When he did not answer her calls or texts, she reported him missing.
In a fundraiser for funeral expenses, Onopa described her son as “smart, funny, driven, and so full of life”.
