Fort Bend County’s tax assessor-collector and two other people face federal charges over an alleged misuse of taxpayer money, the Department of Justice said.
The charges follow an investigation lasting more than a year. The Justice Department described the case as an alleged payroll fraud scheme involving the county official and the two others.
