Seattle defeated Detroit 4-3 in a shootout Tuesday night, recovering after the Red Wings erased a three-goal deficit in the third period at Climate Pledge Arena.
The Kraken led 3-0 after two periods on goals from Mackie Samoskevich, Ryker Evans and Brandon Montour. Seattle had outshot Detroit 22-11 through 40 minutes, but Alex DeBrincat tied the game with 16.9 seconds left in regulation.
After overtime, Freddy Gaudreau and Bobby McMann scored in the shootout for Seattle. The victory came after Saturday’s 8-3 defeat to Florida and was the Kraken’s second shootout win among their six victories this season.
