Tyler Ford, an 18-year-old world champion kickboxer, has appeared at Swansea Crown Court charged with murdering Ceiran Evans, who died after a road collision in Gorseinon.
Ford, from Morriston in Swansea, also faces a charge of attempting to murder a second person. The charges relate to a collision between a car and an off-road bike on Pen Cae Crwn Road on 9 July. Evans, 18, was from Gorseinon.
Ford spoke only to confirm his name at the brief hearing and has not yet been asked to enter a plea. Judge Paul Thomas KC remanded him in custody, set a plea and case management hearing for 29 September and scheduled a two-week trial to begin on 11 January.
Evans’s family paid tribute to his kindness and sense of humour, saying he would be missed every day.
