Ukraine’s military has faced sudden restrictions on satellite internet terminals used in combat. An adviser on military technology to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said terminals travelling at high speed lost access on Tuesday evening, causing several missions to fail.
The disruption came as the Trump administration pressed Ukraine to stop long-range strikes on Russia’s oil industry. The terminals are made by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, but the military network is operated by the US government. Musk said it was not under SpaceX’s control.
Russia also launched ballistic missiles at Ukraine without advance warning from the US for a second night. Air force spokesperson Col Yurii Ihnat said Ukraine received no warning before Tuesday’s first barrage, though foreign partners warned of three later barrages. It remains unclear whether the US intentionally withheld intelligence. Trump has denied cutting intelligence sharing, while Zelenskyy said military advisers had been warned it could be limited.
