Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has permission to challenge the legality of search warrants used in searches connected to his February arrest.

The former Duke of York is seeking to have the warrants quashed through a judicial review of Thames Valley police’s actions. They allowed officers to search his residence on the Sandringham estate and Royal Lodge, his former home in Windsor. His application was reportedly made earlier this year and was recently approved by a High Court judge.

A judicial spokesperson said a private High Court hearing on Thursday will consider whether to release documents relating to the review.

Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office over allegations that he shared sensitive information with Jeffrey Epstein while serving as the UK’s trade envoy.
