Minnesota congresswoman Ilhan Omar says she plans to leave her Washington DC apartment after federal agents raided it on 12 October as part of a wider immigration investigation.

The Democrat said in an interview aired on Wednesday that the raid had made her address public. Citing death threats, she said she feared people could track her children when they visit.

Omar denied allegations of immigration fraud and said she believed the raid was meant to appease supporters of President Donald Trump. Trump allies have circulated baseless claims about her marriage, alongside allegations about her immigration paperwork.

Asked on Tuesday whether Omar could face deportation over alleged inaccuracies in that paperwork, Trump said she could also go to jail.
