Tickets are on sale for TaithCymru, a new coach service between Bangor and Carmarthen due to start on Sunday 25 October. Transport for Wales says it will run nine return journeys a day, with an introductory £10 adult single fare between the towns.

Coaches will travel between the two railway stations via Caernarfon, Porthmadog, Dolgellau, Machynlleth, Aberystwyth University, Aberystwyth Bus Station and Aberaeron. One late-night journey each day will continue to Holyhead railway station and port, connecting with rail and ferry services.

Transport for Wales estimates the Bangor–Carmarthen trip will take four hours 45 minutes to five hours, up to an hour less than existing public transport options. Edwards Coaches will operate the route with Llew Jones, and the timetable is designed to link with trains and other bus services.

Promotional adult single fares will last until early January 2027, when standard fares will replace them. Passengers must book ahead; drivers will not sell tickets, and concessionary bus passes are not currently accepted.
