A DeKalb County judge sentenced rapper and Twitch streamer Aspen Kartier Easterling to 10 days in jail in a puppy abuse case, the county’s Office of the Solicitor-General said. The 19-year-old received a one-year sentence, with the remainder to be served on probation.
Easterling received credit for two days already spent in custody and was taken to jail from court, prosecutors said. The judge denied her request for first-offender treatment, leaving the conviction on her record; prosecutors dropped a second animal cruelty charge.
Her probation bars her from owning, caring for or being in the same room as any dog, with unannounced checks to enforce the restriction. Georgia law also imposes a five-year ban on pet ownership following the conviction.
The sentence requires 24 anger management classes, 100 hours of community service and an animal abuse prevention program. Easterling must pay $3,048 for the puppy’s veterinary and shelter care, plus $39 in monthly probation fees. She and another person who claimed to own the puppy surrendered their rights to it.
