Amos Kipruto won the 2026 Chicago Marathon in 2:01:09, a time that tied Eliud Kipchoge for fifth on the men's all-time list. Kipruto had finished second in Chicago the previous year and placed fourth in London in April with a 2:01:39.
Hawi Feysa won the women's race in 2:13:33 after pulling away from Sharon Lokedi with about a mile remaining. Feysa and Lokedi had broken clear together after 25 kilometers, then exchanged surges for roughly six miles before Feysa's final move.
Feysa, the defending champion, moved to fourth on the women's all-time marathon list. Former world record holder Brigid Kosgei finished third in 2:14:55 after sharing the early lead with Feysa; they covered the first 10 kilometers in 31:04.
