Houston ranked 16th among the most dangerous U.S. cities for trick-or-treating in an annual analysis of 152 cities ahead of Halloween.
The ranking weighed violent and property crime, registered sex offenders, pedestrian fatalities and law enforcement staffing. Houston’s placement reflected its violent crime rate, property crime rate and pedestrian risks.
Houston ranked 15th on last year’s most-dangerous list. Elsewhere in Texas, Frisco placed third among the safest cities nationally, while Laredo ranked 41st on the most-dangerous list.
