A federal immigration agent’s SUV allegedly struck a man documenting immigration enforcement in Woodland on October 20. The man, identified as 37-year-old Antonio Moreida, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The Department of Homeland Security denied that an ICE agent hit Moreida. It said he jumped onto the vehicle’s hood and slid off after the driver braked. Woodland Police Chief Ryan Kinnan said the department’s account was inconsistent with the evidence, citing video of the encounter.
Woodland police said the incident happened around 9:40 a.m. near Locust and Clover streets. Local officials have pledged to investigate the agent. The circumstances remain disputed.
