President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday waiving a sweeping package of sanctions against Russia, citing U.S. national interests.
The sanctions had been passed by Congress. Ukraine and U.S. lawmakers condemned the waiver, while Russia welcomed it.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the move rewarded Russian President Vladimir Putin. Three Republicans also criticized the decision.
