Joshua Kerry, 28, has been charged with preparing alleged terrorist acts targeting Nigel Farage. He also faces a murder charge over the death of MP Ann Widdecombe.
Counter Terrorism Policing said the new charge followed a complex investigation. Prosecutors allege the conduct took place between 31 May 2024 and 8 July 2026. Kerry is due at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 7 October.
Widdecombe, 78, was found dead at her home in Haytor, Devon, on 9 July. At an earlier hearing, the court was told she had been struck on the head 21 times with a hammer. Kerry has appeared at the Old Bailey on the murder charge, with a provisional trial date set for 8 June 2027.
Farage has said an incendiary device was posted through his letterbox while lit in April 2025. Police said they investigated an attempted burglary but made no arrests, closing that case unless new leads emerged.
