The FBI and Atlanta police are investigating reports that an apparent incendiary device was thrown at the downtown Immigration and Customs Enforcement building Tuesday night.
Police said an object was thrown toward the building on Ted Turner Drive at about 9:30 p.m. Nobody was hurt, there was no fire, and the building showed no apparent damage.
Officers blocked the street as FBI agents and an evidence response team searched the scene. The area was cleared around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities had not disclosed what they collected or named a suspect. No arrests had been made, and no one had claimed responsibility.
