Oregon lost 17-15 to UCLA after committing seven turnovers in Week 6, drawing an F grade in an assessment of college football title contenders.
The Ducks are 3-2, with both losses coming as double-digit favorites against teams with first-year coaches. UCLA is led by Bob Chesney. Oregon coach Dan Lanning also drew criticism for waiting too long to replace quarterback Dylan Raiola and for trying a two-point conversion in the first quarter. The Ducks are scheduled to visit Ohio State on Nov. 7.
Elsewhere on the report card, Ohio State received a C+. Texas received a D after a 27-24 loss to Oklahoma; quarterback Arch Manning threw two fourth-quarter interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown. Georgia earned a B+ for its 20-17 win at Alabama. The grades covered teams that began or ended the day with national championship odds of +3000 or better.
