The Golden State Valkyries reached their first WNBA Finals with an 87-77 overtime win over the Las Vegas Aces on Friday night, completing a three-game sweep of the defending champions.
Golden State clinched the series at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas. The Valkyries, who played their first WNBA game in 2025, will face the Atlanta Dream for the title. The Aces had won three of the previous four championships.
Las Vegas led by nine at halftime after Chelsea Gray scored 15 first-half points. Golden State answered with a 17-0 run after the break; Tiffany Hayes helped drive the comeback on defense, and Kayla Thornton hit a three-pointer. The game went to overtime before the Valkyries secured their first trip to the championship round.
