British athlete Will Goodge ran the 14th marathon of his planned 50-marathon effort in Fort Worth on Friday.
Goodge aims to run 50 marathons across 50 states in 24 days, seeking a world record while raising money for cancer awareness. The effort is taking him across the United States, with each race bringing its own conditions.
He said losing his mother inspired him to take on the challenge. Raising money for cancer charities has given his running a purpose beyond helping him cope, he said. Goodge hopes others will find ways to turn painful experiences into positive change.
