President Donald Trump criticized Norway on Friday after he did not receive the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize.
At a rally in Syracuse, New York, intended to support other Republican candidates, Trump spent part of his speech objecting to the Nobel committee’s decision. He said the United States deserved the prize on his behalf and called the outcome a stain on Norway.
Trump also claimed he had settled several wars and said he expected to resolve the conflicts involving Iran and Russia and Ukraine quickly. He claimed to have stopped Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, although US intelligence agencies reported to Congress in 2025 that Iran had suspended its pursuit of nuclear weapons in 2003.
