Keir Starmer could attend the World Cup final as one of his last acts as prime minister if England beat Argentina in Wednesday's semi-final.

Starmer is due to be replaced in Downing Street by Andy Burnham on Monday after being effectively ousted as Labour leader. He is expected to take his final Prime Minister's Questions at noon on Wednesday rather than travel to Atlanta for the Argentina match.

If England advance, they would face either Spain or France in Sunday's final. Starmer is widely expected to travel to New Jersey for that match if England qualify, but the trip remains conditional on the semi-final result.
