Police Scotland is assessing information about whether Reform UK candidates may have breached spending rules in May’s Scottish Parliament election. Reform UK has acknowledged administrative errors in the election paperwork.
Four candidates reportedly did not submit returns detailing their campaign spending and donations. Another five reportedly filed returns but failed to sign them off properly. None of the candidates reported to have omitted spending and donation declarations was elected.
Police Scotland said it had received information and was assessing it. Reform UK said those involved regretted the errors and had sought to provide the requested information.
Reform UK and Labour each secured 17 MSPs, leaving them tied for second place in the election. Malcolm Offord leads Reform UK in Scotland.
