U.S. envoys were meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Norway on Tuesday amid a dispute over American support for Kyiv.
The Norwegian government said special envoy Steve Witkoff was set to meet Zelenskyy in Oslo, with Jared Kushner joining by video. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Finnish President Alexander Stubb were also expected to participate.
Kyiv has accused Washington of withdrawing support it needs to defend against Russia, a claim Secretary of State Marco Rubio called scandalous. The talks come as Witkoff and Kushner have made little progress toward a diplomatic settlement of the war.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said he hoped Trump’s envoys could meet in Russia, but gave no date.
