Walker Kessler scored 26 points without missing a shot in his Lakers debut, helping Los Angeles beat the Golden State Warriors 127-105 on Wednesday night. He went 12-for-12 from the field and grabbed nine rebounds.
Luka Doncic scored 28 points in three quarters, with eight rebounds and seven assists. Austin Reaves added 23 points for the Lakers, while Stephen Curry led Golden State with 23.
Kessler’s 12 makes without a miss rank second in Lakers history, behind Wilt Chamberlain’s 14-for-14 game in March 1969. Kessler had not played a competitive game since the previous Halloween because of injury. He scored on a pass from Doncic on Los Angeles’ opening possession.
The Lakers acquired the 7-foot-2 center from Utah after LeBron James left for Philadelphia. Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg scored 12 points in his debut and received a technical foul during an exchange with Doncic.
