A drone strike near a market in al-Dibab, Sudan, reportedly killed 80 people on Sunday evening, many of them waiting for transport home. Witness Ahmed Wadi said the drone hit a transport hub twice, about 10 minutes apart.
Wadi said he helped bury 50 people, including his brother Mohamed. He said 47 others were taken to nearby al-Mujlad. A medical worker said 30 of those taken there later died of their injuries and that a separate drone strike on al-Mujlad injured four people.
The RSF-declared administration accused Sudan’s army of carrying out the al-Dibab strike. West Kordofan, where the town is located, is under the control of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. The army and the RSF have been at war since April 2023.
